Functional and Mobility Leg Training w/ Scott Kemp
As paintballers we must be functional on the field. Diving, sliding, twisting, turing and stopping on a dime all while carrying a loaded pack and paintball gun. It’s not that easy and our mobility and functionality will play a huge factor to our overall performance. This exercise is designed to improve your hip flexors, quads and glute function and mobility. You will need functional training bands that can be purchased at any sporting good store or online. Here is a link for the cheapest ones I could find online. Be sure to get a few different tensions so that you can assess your strength and start at a moderate tension as you work your way up.
- Set up two cones 15 feet apart
- Wrap functional training band around your ankles
- Squat into a 1/4 squat
- Keep toes forwards and hands by your ears
- Lateral side step back and forth towards each cone
Repeat 10x each way then rest. Perform for a total of 3-5 sets
