I decided to piece together some of the drills I’ve come up with and add a “mind memory” portion to the very end. I’ve preached this before and this is a perfect way to practice it. When the other team makes a move, that’s typically a very good opportunity for you to counter that move.
As always, we finished the day with 1v1’s.
Also, replace “vertical” with horizontal. Haha! I was camera shy that day…
Start off the drill by diving into a bunker you can battle your mirror out of. Once you have warmed up and began to hone your diving skills. Add in the gun battling portion to the drill. Starting at the start gate, slide to the bunker and begin to battle with your mirror. Once you have grasped the true meaning of gun battling it’s time to add in the next part of the drill. The next movement of the drill is once you have gained dominance on the enemy, is to make that bump into the snake. While battling don’t forget to be in a readied stance to spring into your next move. Once you have forced your enemy back into their bunker make that dive into the snake.
**To add another dynamic to this drill, place a barrel or object at the home bunker. While your enemy is matching your move into the snake. Wrap the bunker and take a shot at the barrel at home while they are sliding into the snake. Remember this is one less gun shooting at you as you wrap so take the advantage! If you’re the one playing catch up try and take out the wrapping opponent.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to create a course?
