This has to be one of my favorite drills right now. I’ve been running it over the last months with my good buddy Brandon Short from San Diego Dynasty. We collaborated on this drill as we were working on getting a fast breakout to each bunker position but still factor in that you will have to dive or slide into your spot. Yes, it’s more realistic to actually dive or slide in but lets save the wear and tear so that we can run this drill over and over without wearing ourselves into the ground.
You will need 8 cones and a t-shirt or towel. The object of this drill is to breakout sprint to each bunker grabbing the shirt or towel with one hand. This will force you to get low as you would if you were going to dive or slide in.
Your cones will be set up as: (see video to get a better visual of cone positions)
- back center
- dorito 1
- dirito 2
- dirito corner
- snake insert
- snake corner
- center field (X)
Keep your eyes up and towards the center of the field.
Start as if your gun is in your hand and back, touching the starting box.
Always grab the t-shirt or towel with your inside hand, as your gun would be in the outside one.
